During the 2018-2019 pheasant hunting season, 150 banded pheasants will be released in Ford County. “Bounty Bird” GOLD numbered leg bands will correlate with a predetermined community prize. “Rooster Roundup” RED numbered leg bands will be entered into a grand prize drawing. If you are lucky enough to bag one of the banded pheasants, hunters will need to bring the leg band to the Dodge City Visitors Center at 400 West Wyatt Earp to register the band and claim your prize. This is a great opportunity for hunters as there are more chances to win prizes when you hunt in Ford County!

Father Pat's parishioners are a bit fuzzy on the commandments, so when a rumor starts that the Pope is visiting their congregation, folks are lining up to confess their sins. But the only John Paul in this confessional box is John Paul Fitzpatrick, the janitor. Fitz has been trapped in there for hours, and what he is learning could blow the lid off this whole town! This hilarious Christmas comedy will leave you clutching your sides and believing that "on one day of the year...it's possible to get more than we deserve."

The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting on the 2nd Sunday in December unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. Now believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, the annual Worldwide Candle Lighting, a gift to the bereavement community from The Compassionate Friends, creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone. TCF’s WCL started in the United States in 1997 as a small internet observance, but has since swelled in numbers as word has spread throughout the world of the remembrance. Hundreds of formal candle lighting events are held and thousands of informal candle lighting are conducted in homes as families gather in quiet remembrance of children who have died, but will never be forgotten.
