The Dodge City Sports Commission will once again host the 2019 KSHSAA Class 1A State Basketball Tournament, March 6-9 at the United Wireless Arena. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Dodge City has been selected as the host site. Before 2015 - the last time Dodge City hosted a State Basketball Tournament was (1973) – at the Civic Center.
This year’s tournament is a return to a unified Class 1A State Championship and features some of the state’s most outstanding teams and individuals. On the girls side of the bracket, three teams bring undefeated records to Dodge City – including the record-holding Central Plains girls who have won 153 or their last 154 games (108 consecutive). Central Plains is a 5-time defending State Champion, and feature the state’s leading scorer – Emily Ryan. The combined record of the girl’s bracket is 173-15. On the boy’s side, there are two undefeated teams – Osborne and Central Plains (who have won 50 straight games). The school that holds the record for most consecutive wins (St. John – 68) is also in the tournament. All combined – the teams representing 1A schools at this year’s tournament have a combined (33) state titles!

Wednesday, March 6, 2019: Girls Quarterfinal games at 3:00 pm, 4:45 pm, 6:30 pm, & 8:15 pm
Thursday, March 7, 2019: Boys Quarterfinal games at 3:00 pm, 4:45 pm, 6:30 pm, & 8:15 pm
Friday, March 8, 2019: Semifinal games
Girls at 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm
Boys at 4:45 pm and 8:15 pm
Saturday, March 9, 2019 Consolation and State Championship games
12:00 pm 3rd Place Girls Game
2:00 pm 3rd Place Boys Game
4:00 pm Girls Championship Game
6:15 pm Boys Championship Game
